January Rain Can Bring Heavy Damage

After a serious cold spell that saw temperatures dip into the single digits, the unusually warm weather is back. And now that it is warm again, all the precipitation is in the form of rain.  Most residents of Fairfield County don’t think of storm water damage as a typical winter event.  But just this past weekend, we saw at least a dozen homes and businesses that needed water damage remediation due to the heavy rainfall.

We were prepared for the weather, and had crews on standby, ready to be dispatched to the places that needed damage restoration.  For example, we sent technicians to a condo complex that suffered a leak in the roof that led to water pouring into their lobby.  We also responded to a local restaurant that had groundwater in their dining room.  

While we would think snow and ice would be the major storm events causing damage right now, the temperature is making it so rainstorms are the leading cause of storm damage.
